RewIsle of Wight Adoption Centre

We are all absolutely loving the new Rew. See why!

Well, let's tell you a bit more about this lovely puss. Rew has been at the centre for over 200 days now. He came to us as a stray and was a very scared and nervous boy who was not brave enough to let anyone go near him. We don’t really know much about his background except that he was sadly left behind to fend for himself, when his owner moved away. We think he has always been a shy lad who has lived the outdoor life for some time, without anyone to care for him.

We were determined to turn life around for this little boy and so our team patiently worked with Rew over the last few months to enable him to trust us humans again. It’s been a long journey but he is now coming out of his shell and showing what a friendly puss he really is! He has the most amazing purr and is even starting to turn into a lap cat! The change has been amazing. As one of our socialisers said:

“On Saturday, I was gobsmacked! He came and lay on my lap (no treats at all to tempt him, just his blanket), he gave me a really good lick (I never realised I was quite so dirty), purred away, rubbed himself against me, kneaded his paws on the blanket, laid on his back - all whilst on my lap. He’s really growing into one affectionate gorgeous cat!”

Rew does now seem to be a very content puss - he loves people and loves fuss. And, he makes us all laugh, since he'll happily settle by your side and watch you intently with that wonderful curious quizzical look of his.

Do find time to come and say hello to Rew. It's time for him to find his forever home.

Rew cannot be rehomed to Ventnor.
