MiaReservedIsle of Wight Adoption Centre

Sadly, Mia hasn’t had the best start to life and is still very shy of people. She was rescued as a stray in August and spent her first few weeks hiding away, refusing any human contact all. However, we are slowly beginning to build her trust, and are starting to see a big change. As her video shows, inside this shy little girl is a loving, affectionate kitty waiting to emerge (dial up the sound to hear her purr!).

Her foster mum says that it has taken some time for Mia to trust her but now she will often jump up on the sofa for a bit of fuss (and lots of purrs) before falling asleep. She also loves to play - any kind of toy ball will do, although her favourite seem to be the little wooden cat nip balls, which she likes to bat across the floor and chase them around.

Mia also appears to like other cats, so if you already have a calm friendly cat in the house, then it might help to bring out Mia’s confidence even more.

There’s still some way to go, since Mia is only at the start of her journey in learning that us humans aren’t so bad after all, but we do believe that with patience and time, she will make a lovely companion.

Mia is currently in foster care, but do give us a call and we can arrange a visit for you to meet her.
